KPV

Tripeptide (Lysine-Proline-Valine) derived from the C-terminal region of alpha-MSH. In preclinical and cell-based studies, KPV has been shown to interact with importin-alpha3, which may help limit NF-kB nuclear translocation, a pathway involved in inflammatory signaling. Research indicates KPV can enter epithelial cells and exert localized effects without broad systemic immunosuppression in experimental models. Unlike alpha-MSH, KPV exhibits anti-inflammatory activity that appears independent of melanocortin receptor signaling.
